Map Description
A suprisingly identity-less map for what was supposed to be a slight homeage to Perfect Dark.
You should be able to recognise SOME parts of the Carrington Institute, at least layout-wise. It is geometrically no where near as complex, and has an excessive use of crates throughout the starting areas. You are rewarded for exploring these piles of crates, but don't expect a miracle. So, what's good about this map? What is there to encourage you to download and play it? To be honest, I can't think of anything. It took me ages to make, and I was quite proud of it back in the day, but that was before I had internet access, and thus access to maps rivaling the quality of the official maps. This map gives clear signs of very little planning, which would be accurate - I was a huge fan of Perfect Dark at the time, and Duke3D was the only game I had with a map editor - add to that a strange desire to make a map, and you have a mess. As you play further on, the map shows clear signs of a lack of enthusiasm. Safe to say, this map took ages to make not because of some obsessive attention to detail, but because of the lack of interest as time went by. There is no cool lighting effects, no atmosphere, just a "full bright" map which could have been much better. The map lacks some serious common sense. My aim at first was to make a very large map which is a bad way to start. In Perfect Dark, you get no idea of the surroundings of the Carrington Institute, so I used my imagination - poorly. Straight out of the entrance to the Institute is a tunnel leading to a "power station", then a volcano. Yeah, I just frowned too. ReviewsAverage Rating:
